Your Fijian experience starts when you board your Fiji Airways flight. Relax, enjoy the meals provided, have a drink, watch a movie and rest. Your Economy ticket includes a carry-on bag up to 15lbs and checked bag up to 50lbs, Inflight meal and drinks (including alcoholic beverages) and inflight entertainment. When you arrive in Fiji, you will be greeted by our wonderful partners with a warm “Bula” and a special VIP Gift Pack. All your questions will be answered and they will show you where to meet your private car transfer. After a quick 25-minute car ride with free WiFi, you’ll find yourself at DoubleTree reception where they will give you a nice warm cookie and load your bags onto a boat for your 3-minute ride across a small channel to the island of Sonaisali. You’ll feel the famous and friendly Bula spirit as soon as you arrive.
You’ll arrive before check-in so you can either leave your bags with reception and explore the resorts many amenities or if you want access to a room immediately, ask us about booking a day room for your first day.

Take a shuttle or taxi into Nadi
Nadi (pronounced nan-di) is a multi-cultural town with great food, drink and plenty of culture! A shuttle runs from the resort a few times a week. Check with the front desk to get the schedule or book a transfer at the tour desk.
- Stroll Down Main Street – Your shuttle will drop you off at Jack’s of Fiji on Queen Street. This is the main hub where you will find great restaurants, bars and souvenir shops. Haggling is recommended to get the best price for your take home gifts!
- Nadi Town Market – This local shopping experience is packed with local fruit and vegetable stands selling a colorful array of produce. Local artisans also sell their wares. The best day to visit is Saturday when all the stalls are full.
- Fiji Cultural Village – Learn about local traditions and history. Participate in the iconic Kava Drinking Ceremony or head here in the evening for a great Fijian buffet and fire dancers.
- Sri Siva Temple – This colorful Hindu Temple is a great way to learn more about the mutli-cultural aspects of Fiji’s history as part of the British Empire.
- Sabeto Hot Springs and Mud Pools – Located outside town, these mud pools are a great chance to get closer to nature. Relax in the natural mineral waters and smear yourself in the healing mud.
- The Garden of the Sleeping Giant – This perfectly landscaped tropical garden is majestically in the shadow of the Sleeping Giant Mountain. You see a huge diversity of fauna curated for decades. A major highlight is the hundreds of colorful orchids.

Take a River Safari and visit a Fijian Village
With pick ups from your resort, this half day of adventure and culture is a winning combo! Travel the awe inspiring Sigatoka River. This is the longest river on the island of Viti Levu, running from the hills of the Navosa Province down to the sand dunes in Kulukulu.
You will begin your journey from your resort and transferred to Sigatoka. From there you’ll enjoy a scenic cruise into the Sigatoka valley, discovering the fertile area known as the salad bowl of Fiji.
You’ll board the jet boat and begin your journey up the Sigatoka river. Your informative guide will inform you of the history of the region, including its cannibal past! You will be able to see fish and rocks lining the river bottom. Your guide will get your adrenaline pumping with some fun 360 Jet boat spins as well!
Upon arrival at the village destination, you will receive a warm welcome by the villagers. You’ll be given a tour of the village, enjoy a kava ceremony, a lunch prepared by the women of the village and a ton of fun dancing! Our trip was planned so carefully and perfectly. We were able to see and do everything we wanted within our time limits, and Joanne was such an asset in helping us figure out what was most important.
